I apologise for the the half assed background. In reality I would have loved to have digitally painted a beach scene for it, but alas, I suck at scenery painting. And didn't want this idea to forever rot on the hard drive. >>;;
(Am looking to steal and mutate advice on backgrounds from people to use in future pictures. Vector backgrounds maybe?)

I've lost track on how long this has taken me, I'm surprised ~melloni didn't find me and threaten me to finish this. ^^; *gives Mimi a cookie for sparing her life*

My teeth hurt real bad. I'm going to be one of those people whose braces never stop hurting, even after they haven't been adjusted in months hahahaha! It makes me realise that there isn't much in this house that is soft and squishy to eat (that is vegetarian, without seeds, not covered in sugar, etc etc...). Ah well, all will be well soon.

So tell me whatever this piece may make you think.

(Damn, I suck at drawing full stop.)

Love the colours and the wonderful summery feel of this. Actually I think the background is better as it is, it draws attention to the subject, just like a good portrait photo with a blurred background would. Sometimes keeping it simple works best.

Three notable things give me great joy:
1. She isn't anorexic :w00t: and looks beautiful.
2. The proportions are excellent, especially the hand and legs.
3. The skirt. X3 The colour and shading and shaping and how it folds and everything.
Now please excuse me for poking the following in your picture:
1. The top she is wearing looks quite thick - perhaps if the shading on it followed the shading underneath, on the skin, instead of following the edges of the top (sorry, I hope you know what I mean ^^;), it would seem thinner? Unless you intended it to look thick, in which case please ignore all of that.
2. The sun seems awfully large and dark. Though a brighter sun may elicit more daring highlighting... Anyway, have you looked at the sun recently? Life observation works wonders as a reference. :evillaugh:
3. Human heads extend surprisingly far back (huzzah for giant brains |D) - maybe we would see a bit of hair right behind her right ear?

Why am I saying so much? Such a good pic deserves a "Wow, cool!" and a thumbs up, not all this rambling. Well, if you were thinking about backgrounds in the future, reference photos always inspire. I think the background in this case works well already anyway. ^-^
